WHY I WAS WRONG ABOUT 'THE RISE OF SKYWALKER'I've updated my thoughts on this RoS thing.
[THIS WAS ORIGINALLY A RESPONSE TO A COMMENTER BUT IS NOW AN ESSAY]
I'm starting to warm up to it, now. I'm now being to thing about all the different beats and....rather than re-write everything....I'm going to add to what is there with supplementary materials and such as fan fiction....
The only real quibble I have now is the complete side-lining of Rose Tico.
As for the other quibbles....they can all be explained, expanded or fixfic-ed while still being true to canon....
BEN SOLO'S "DEATH":
Ben Solo will never leave Rey for he and Rey are a rare Force Dyad which can never be separated. Ben MERGED with Rey and lives inside her. Ben's still alive and well. Ben can still return. At the end of the movie, we see the Force Ghosts of Luke & Leia but no Ben. That means Ben is within Rey. Rey can speak with Ben at all times
I WILL CREATE MY OWN SEQUEL TRILOGY, ANYWAY....[NOTE: I WILL RE-EDIT THIS ESSAY IF AND WHEN NEEDED]
While I have warmed up a bit to THE RISE OF SKYWALKER and accept it on it's own terms, I still think there's a lot of tweaks needed in the new trilogy in general. While I like a lot concerning The New Trilogy, I admit that it was often a sloppy mess made up as they went along with a ton of wasted opportunities, characters and plot directions.
I'm not part of the chorus that hates on the New Trilogy like it's Gigli, Ishtar or Birdemic but even as someone who generally enjoys these films I have a LOT of quibbles.
A LOT of folks are just disgusted with a few details....
Many are mad that Ben died in the end.Many are disappointed in how General Hux's entire arc went.The Knights of Ren were a bit of a letdown. No Stormpilot!Phasma didn't return.Rose completely
